Miki Orr, Certified Vibrational Sound Practitioner
Vibrational Sound Therapy, VST is a relaxation technique that uses a subtle vibration and sound from a signing bowl rung directly on the body. The gentle sounds and vibrations help to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to relax clients. When we are in a relaxed state, it can help our body to repair itself naturally.
The techniques associated with VST have many advantages over traditional massage. One major comfort barrier that prevents many people from receiving a traditional massage is fear of being touched by a stranger or having to remove clothing. In the VST method, the client remains fully clothed and contact is kept to a minimum.Some of the benefits reported from using VST:
Quickly introduces deep meditative states;
Reduces depression and sleep issues;
Eases blockages and tension;
Raises mental clarity;
Vibrational Sound Therapy has the potential to help a variety of people. Athletes of all ages, adults, teens, elderly, individuals with joint pain, chronic pain, arthritis, children with behavioral issues, children who are on the spectrum,and adults and children who have attention issues.
Vibrational Sound Therapy, VST is multifaceted and in my opinion, has unlimited potential to help you feel better so that you can be your best!
Vibrational Sound Therapy- VST
The human body is made of 80% water so the vibration initiated by the Measured Strike Technique causes waves that penetrate deeply into tissues and the process is effective but not vigorous. The vibrations are similar to those of the brain’s alpha waves. The sound of the singing bowls has an effect on brain-wave frequencies and can help bring the brain into a Alpha state within minutes. (Alpha waves occur during REM sleep, hypnosis and deep meditation.) At the same time, the vibrations that emit from the bowls provide a cellular massage. Those who undergo a state of deep relaxation often report a feeling of mental freshness after the session.
Therapeutic singing bowls are handmade and are one of a kind. They may have a similar look to traditional hand hammered Tibetan Singing bowls, but that is where the similarities end. They are the first “singing bowls” designed as a tool specifically for Vibrational Sound Therapy, and differ in many aspects from traditional Tibetan bowls. The bowls used during the session are specifically engineered to provide vibration over sound. Silver Sky Imports Therapeutic series bowls were designed for use in hospitals and are the safest singing bowls on the market today. Using pure metals in the construction of the bowls has allowed Silver Sky Imports control over their content. The bowls are a perfect bell metal mixture, free of impurities and possibly toxic metals found in traditional cottage industry bowls or antique bowls due to lack of regulation.
