Certified Vibrational Sound Practitioner
Vibrational Sound Therapy is a relaxation technique that uses subtle vibration and sound from a signing bowl rung directly on the body or tuning forks placed on or near the body. The gentle sounds and vibrations help to relax the body. When we are in a relaxed state, it can help our body to repair itself naturally.
"There's no organ system in the body that's not affected by sound, music and vibration. You can look at disease as a form of disharmony." -Mitchell Gaynor
Vibrational Sound Therapy
The human body is made of 80% water so the vibration initiated by the Measured Strike Technique causes waves that penetrate deeply into tissues and the process is effective but not vigorous. The vibrations are similar to those of the brain’s alpha waves. The sound of the singing bowls has an effect on brain-wave frequencies and can help bring the brain into a Alpha state within minutes. (Alpha waves occur during REM sleep, hypnosis and deep meditation.) At the same time, the vibrations that emit from the bowls provide a cellular massage. Those who undergo a state of deep relaxation often report a feeling of mental freshness after the session.
Vibrational Sound Therapy
Tuning forks use sound and vibration to create change in and around the body. The pitch of the sound emitted by a tuning fork travels through all parts of your body, such as skin, muscles, tissues and bones. When these vibrations reach our cells, they begin to vibrate at the same frequency of the tuning fork, thus "tuning" our body into it's natural state. Tuning forks can target specific areas of the body that are out of balance by placing them directly on the body to feel the vibration.
The Benefits of Vibrational Sound Therapy
There are many benefits from using sound vibration as an energy therapy. Not only do you experience deep states of rest and relaxation, it is also believed that sound therapy can also reduce anxiety, stress, improve circulation, and stimulate the immune system. Sound and vibration can assists with emotional trauma, relieve chronic or acute pain, and can aid the healing and recovery process from an illness or procedure.
What to Expect at a Session
During an energy session, the client will lie on the table with shoes off and fully clothed. There will be soft music playing, crystals and essential oils will be used for maximum relaxation. Miki will begin the session with Reiki followed up with tuning fork and singing bowl energy work. Tuning forks will be played on and off the body depending on the individual's needs. Singing bowls will be placed on various parts of the body and Miki will then use a measured strike technique to generate vibration. Using all of these forms of energy, sound and vibration, allows the body an avenue to be calmed efficiently and you'll go through noticeable changes as you respond to deeper and deeper states of rest. Being in a relaxed state can help our body, mind and spirit to repair itself naturally.

Sound Energy for an active lifestyle
Vibrational sound therapy can help those who put excessive wear and tear on muscles and joints due to sports, physical labor or living an active lifestyle. Vibration on the body can help muscles and joints to become more pliable for better performance and freedom of motion. Bowl and tuning fork placements can be customized to fit an individual's needs & concerns.
The techniques associated with vibrational sound therapy have many advantages over traditional massage. One major comfort barrier that prevents many people from receiving a traditional massage is fear of being touched by a stranger or having to remove clothing. In a session, the client remains fully clothed and contact is kept to a minimum.
Vibrational sound therapy has the potential to help a variety of people. Athletes of all ages, adults, teens, elderly, individuals with joint pain, chronic pain, arthritis, children with behavioral issues, children who are on the spectrum, and adults and children who have attention issues.
